February 7, 2012: Project Ojibwa took a giant step forward today with the announcement of an agreement between the Elgin Military Museum and the Estate of Dorothy Fay Palmer for a donation of $300,000.

January 31, 2012: Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, Elgin County OPP Detachment, Toronto Police Service, Colorado Springs Police Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have arrested and charged a St. Thomas area man following an Internet child sexual exploitation investigation.

Signing it as if it were written by his dog, a local dog owner wrote a letter to Central Elgin Council requesting a "dog friendly area" in Port Stanley, noting that currently the berm "is the only dog friendly area in which to run me in town where we won't get into potential trouble with the scary dog catcher officer."
