Obituary for Ernest Ernie William Hambleton

Hambleton - Ernest William "Ernie" of St. Thomas passed away on Saturday March 3rd, 2018 at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital at the age of 88.

Dearly loved husband and best friend for over 67 years of Joyce (Raine) Hambleton and proud and loving father of James (Ann) Hambleton of New Hamburg, Gerry (Brenda) Hambleton of Sault Ste. Marie, Kenn (Jeannie) Hambleton of Waterloo, Don (Pam) Hambleton of London, Richard (Carrie) Hambleton of Woodstock and David (Ashley G.) Hambleton of St. Thomas. Proud grandfather of Adam, Nicholas (Sacha), Jason (Brittany), Elizabeth (Ryan), Andrew (Kat), Eden (Brian), Daniel (Carrie), Brian (Melissa), Jennifer (Jake), Candace (Andrew), Stephanie ( Tyler ), Stacey (Jon), Brittany (Adam), Jenna (Craig) and soon to be Jackson and great grandfather of Calvin, Danni, Teddy, Iris, Pearl, Claire, Jake, Natalie, Carter, Myla, Carson, Emmitt, Elliott and soon to be Mary. Predeceased by siblings Charlie Hambleton, Margaret McIntyre, Edna Owles, Grace Cummings and Bruce Hambleton. Dear brother-in-law of Doreen Haight. He is lovingly survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Ernie was born February 19th , 1930 in St. Thomas the son of the late Alice and George Hambleton. He was the proud owner of Ernie's Shoe Repair (1954-1995). Ernie was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts for over 30 years and a member of the Camp Timken committee. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas , where visitation will be held Friday evening March 9th from 7-9p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday at St. Hilda's-St. Luke's Anglican Church on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Visitation is at the Church from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Donations can be made to St. Hilda's-St. Luke's Anglican Church.
