November 14th, 2017 - St. Thomas Police responded to three separate complaints of
aggressive door to door sales people last evening on the north side of the city.
Officers searched the Confederation Drive area and located sales people going door
to door from a company called "Home Water" services. The individuals were stopped
and warned about their tactics.
Door to door sales are not illegal however aggressive tactics, overpriced contracts
and hidden service charges are frequently reported to police by residents. Often

In the meantime please remember. Never let unsolicited, unknown sales people inside
your house no matter what reason they give you. These sales people often use excuses
like they need to check your equipment, read your utility bills or scare you into
thinking there is some kind of contamination of water in the area.
If the sales people are rude and aggressive, ask them to leave your property and
close your door. If the person does not leave, call the police.
