Friday 13th - Airspace Closed In Port Dover
Norfolk County, ON - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment
would like to remind everyone that will be attending Friday the 13th that the downtown
core airspace will be closed.
Pursuant to section 5.1 of the Aeronautics Act, air space is restricted during police
operations, except for police, medevac and rescue aircraft.
During the events of Friday the 13th, air space is closed for two (2) nautical miles
from the centre of town in Port Dover to 1700 feet above surface. This will reduce
any conflicts with other Unmanned Aerial Vehicle's (UAVs) or low flying air craft.
No person should be operating any UAVs or aircraft within the area unless authorized
by Transport Canada.
This will ensure that no conflicts will take place with other individuals attempting
to use UAVs or aircrafts that may put the public at risk or interfere with police
operations.
Port Dover Friday The 13th - Road Closures
Norfolk County, ON - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment
would like to remind the public that Friday the 13th is quickly approaching and
that this is a largely attended event in Port Dover, Norfolk County, Ontario.
The OPP is asking for the public to be patient due to the possibility of increased
motorcycle traffic. The motoring p ublic are being asked to be extra vigilant and
to take a little more time when making manoeuvres such as signalling turns and checking
blind spots.
Main Street between Nelson Street and Walker Street is closed. Market Street East,
Market Street West and Chapman Street West will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Police will be on hand to ensure the safety of those in attendance and to assist
with any traffic related issues. Norfolk County OPP is urging everyone that will
be attending this event to plan ahead if consuming intoxicating substances.
