March 13th, 2018 - On March 10, 2018 the St. Thomas Police received a complaint
about an assault that had occurred in the early morning hours. Investigation revealed
that the victim of the assault had met up with another male for a prearranged consensual
fight. When that fight ended, the victim was approached and sucker punched by another
male who was a bystander to the original fight. As a result of the sucker punch,
the victim suffered a broken jaw that required surgery. On March 12, 2018 a 20 year
old male was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault. The accused
was released with a future court date.
On March 12, 2018 the St. Thomas Police arrested two males on outstanding warrants.
The males were wanted in connection with fraudulent use of bank cards that were
reported stolen to the St. Thomas Police in the early morning hours of March 1,
2018. The first accused is a 33 year old male who made three fraudulent purchases
worth $46.32. He is charged with three counts of Fraud Under $5000 and one count
of Possession of Stolen Credit Card. The second accused is a 48 year old male who
made four fraudulent transactions worth $87.38. He is charged with four counts of
Fraud Under $5000, one count of Possession of Stolen Credit Card and because he
is currently on probation, he is also charged with one count of Breach of Probation.
The males were released with future court dates.
