Hospital Foundations Thank Dream Supporters

London, Ont. - With its second sell out in a row and eighth in Dream Lottery history, the three participating hospital foundations want to express thanks to everyone from across the region - from ticket purchasers, to builders, designers, suppliers, retail and media partners, as well as volunteers and staff - who have contributed to this lottery's amazing success:

"The success of this Dream Lottery continues to amaze me; the amount of community support for patients and families at our hospitals is outstanding. Thank You!" – Scott Fortnum, President & CEO, Children's Health Foundation

"Thank you for contributing to the extraordinary care, research and medical innovation at our hospitals through Dream Lottery! You've made patients from across our region the biggest winners." - Michelle Campbell, President & CEO, St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation

"Thank you for stepping up for our hospitals in a record-breaking Dream Lottery success! You're truly making a difference in the lives of patients and families in London and beyond." - John MacFarlane, President & CEO, London Health Sciences Foundation

Dream Lottery sold out of tickets prior to 3 p.m. on June 6. The already hot sales pace increased after it was estimated tickets would disappear on or before the Bonus Draw sales deadline of midnight, June 7.

For the first time in Dream Lottery history, the 50/50 prize pool hit seven figures and currently sits at more than $1.017 million. That record amount will continue growing since Dream Lottery ticket holders can still buy into the 50/50 by calling 519-488-7100, until the final sales deadline of July 5.

With the sell out, the dream homes are now closed to the public, to help maximize net proceeds.

Prior to this spring, Dream Lottery had raised more than $31.8 million (net) since 1996 for innovative technology and equipment, ground-breaking research, and continuing medical education and training that enables doctors, nurses and staff to provide exceptional, patient-centred, life-changing care. A new net total will be announced when the lottery winners are revealed on July 19.

Dream Lottery is a joint venture of Children's Health Foundation, St. Joseph's Health Care Foundation and London Health Sciences Foundation. Together, Children's Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph's Health Care London and London Health Sciences Centre receive more than 1.5 million patient visits from across Southwestern Ontario and beyond each year. In addition to caring for London-area residents, the hospitals are referral centres providing specialized services in support of the excellent care of the region's community hospitals.
