July 12, 2018 - A Point Edward company has been fined $800 for a commercial fishing
violation on Lake Huron.
Purdy Fisheries Limited pleaded guilty and was fined $800 for failing to properly
submit a daily catch report, a requirement of its commercial fishing licence.
Court heard that on December 19, 2017, a captain acting on behalf of the company
failed to submit a copy of a daily catch report prior to offloading that day's catch
Justice of the Peace Helen Gale heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice,
Sarnia, on July 4, 2018.
