August 27th, 2019 - A forty three year old male formerly of St. Thomas was arrested
yesterday morning at the Elgin County Court House by security staff. A warrant was
issued for the man’s arrest after his surety was revoked. The man was brought to
the court house on an escort from the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre while in
custody on charges from the London area. Security Officers discovered he was wanted
and arrested him without incident. The man had been released to his surety back
in February after being charged with several Assault, Weapons and Threats charges.
The charges stemmed from an incident on John Street where the man swung an axe at
officers while police responded to a noise complaint at his residence.
Officers arrested thirty six year old Natasha Brown of St. Thomas last evening around
6:30 pm on Inkerman Street. Loss prevention officers from the Real Canadian Superstore
called police after Brown allegedly stole two hundred dollars worth of cosmetics
from the store. Brown fled on foot as Loss Prevention tried to arrest her. She was
located a short distance away by police and was taken into custody without incident.
Brown was charged one count Theft Under $5000, one count Escape Lawful Custody,
one count Breach of Release Conditions and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice
Building where she was held for court. All the cosmetics were recovered and returned
to the store.
A nineteen year old St. Thomas man wanted on a warrant for four counts of breaching
his release conditions was arrested in London early this morning. Officers from
the London Police Service were dealing with the man on an unrelated matter when
they discovered he was wanted on a warrant. The man was taken into custody without
incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing.
The man was later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
