Stolen Batteries

August 23rd, 2019 - Police are investigating after a shed behind a Myrtle Street residence was broken into sometime Wednesday night. The home is located near the intersection of Third Avenue. Thieves entered shed and stole two black and lime green Ryobi rechargeable batteries. Warrant

Police are looking for a forty year old St. Thomas man wanted on a warrant for one count of Mischief to Property and one count Breach of Release. The warrant was issued after the man attended the residence of his estranged girlfriend on Wednesday. The two had an argument which ended with the man breaking a window then leaving the area.

Arrest

A thirty three year old London woman was arrested yesterday morning by security staff at the Elgin County Court House. The woman was wanted on a warrant for one count of Mischief to property. The woman was in custody at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre and was charged with the offence after scratching her initials in the cell wall during her last court appearance.

Arrest

A fifty two year old St. Thomas man was arrested yesterday morning by security staff at the Elgin County Court House. The man was wanted on a warrant for three counts of Possession of Stolen Property. The man has been in custody at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre on drug related charges while the STPS Street Crimes Unit investigated a storage unit full of stolen property. Officers linked the man to the storage unit and laid the charges while he was in custody.

Arrest

A twenty two year old man currently released on parole to an address in the city of St. Thomas was arrested by Officers on Talbot Street yesterday. The arrest comes after Police had received complaints of a suspicious male trying car door handles and walking around houses through a south side neighbourhood in the middle of the night on Tuesday. One of the homeowners provided police with footage from a home security system which assisted Officers in identifying the suspect. The man was taken into custody without incident and charged two counts Attempt Theft Under $5000 and Two counts Trespass By Night.

Stolen Bike

Police are investigating after a bike was stolen sometime overnight from outside an apartment building located at 82 Parkside Drive. The bike was locked outside at the time of the theft. The bike is described as a dark blue “Golfer” road bike.
