Search Warrant Leads to Additional Charges

August 20th, 2019 - An investigation by the St. Thomas Police Service Street Crimes Unit has led to the arrest of two men and the recovery of some stolen property. The incident began when SCU officers arrested a fifty two year old St. Thomas man on drug possession charges. Police later executed a search warrant at a storage unit rented by the man. A Dewalt nail gun and mitre saw that had been reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Henry Street back on August 6th was located inside the unit. The property was seized for return to the rightful owner. As a result the fifty two year old was also charged with Possession of Stolen Property. The theft of tools from the vehicle was recorded on a residential security system and police have arrested a thirty six year old St. Thomas man and charged him with one count of Theft and two counts Breach of Release Conditions.

Stolen Bicycle

Police are investigating after a brazen bike theft on Friday afternoon around 3:30 pm. A man was seen stealing a bike and two scooters from the backyard of a home on Wellington Street near Smith Avenue. When the homeowner shouted at the thief he dropped the two scooters and rode away on the stolen bike. The bike is described as a blue and silver Gary Fisher mountain bike model. The thief is described as a short, thin male wearing a grey ball cap. Stolen Bicycle

Police are investigating after a vintage bicycle was stolen sometime Saturday night from a backyard on Dunkirk Street. The bike is described as a 1980's Blue Angel with a blue front tire and banana style seat.
