Arrest

September 6th, 2019 - An arrest has been made and a twenty four year old St. Thomas man has been charged as the result of an investigation into an attack that happened back on August 28th while a man was walking down South Edgeware Rd. The suspect was identified a short time later and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The man turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Justice Building yesterday morning around 7:30 am and was taken into custody without incident. He was charged one count Assault Cause Bodily Harm and released on a Promise to Appear in Court.

**Police are investigating after a twenty eight year old St. Thomas man was assaulted last evening around 7 pm while walking on South Edgeware Road. The victim reports he had gone to Tim Hortons to get a coffee and was walking back to his residence when he was approached by two men. A verbal altercation escalated to a physical fight with one of the men punching the victim. A short scuffle ensued ending with the suspects leaving the area. Domestic

A thirty two year old female was arrested last evening around 6:30 pm after an argument at the family home with her estranged husband became physical. The woman was taken into custody without incident and later released on a Promise to Appear in Court. She has been charged with one count Assault With a Weapon.

Impaired

A sixty three year old St Thomas man was arrested last night after driving to Waterworks Park in a rented vehicle while Impaired. Officers were called after a concerned citizen saw the man pull into a parking spot to use the restroom at the park. Officers attended and administered the driver a roadside screening device which he failed. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for further testing. Breath samples taken at the station indicated the man had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. The man was charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. He was later released on a Promise to Appear in court. The rental vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Theft

A thirty one year old St. Thomas woman was arrested last night around 8:30 pm by Loss Prevention Officers at the Real Canadian Superstore after she tried to steal $165 worth of products. The woman was taken into custody without incident by Loss Prevention as she tried to leave the store with the stolen goods. STPS officers arrived a short time later and charged the woman with one count Theft Under $5000 and one count Breach of Release Conditions.
