It's Your Funeral Review

"It's Your Funeral" a classic farce by Jamie Williams is a zany action packed adventure comedy that takes place on the stage of the Port Stanley Festival Theatre from August 14th to September 7th.

With a talented cast of five: featuring Tim Machin playing George Cranston, a husband and recovering gambler; Tiana Leonty as Helen Cranston, a trusting wife with all the money; William Vickers as Rodney, the bookie that's open to more than just bets; Caitlin Driscoll as three sisters Irma, Berta, Hedwig; and Brian Young as the Senator and the Accountant; that will keep you guessing!

George and Helen Cranston have purchased a funeral parlour and are now hosting their very first funeral. Helen returns from the bank with a bank draft for the remaining down payment for George to hold and later to give to the Accountant when he arrives. The zany chaos begins here with race track bets, lies, lust, secret passageways, shifting coffins, and mysterious millions that will both shock and surprise you! For a first show performance, the acting was great and the dialogue was spot on which kept the audience surprised and busy laughing giving "It's Your Funeral" a rating of two thumbs up.

Credit must be given to director Simon Joynes for this pulling off this action packed farce and to Eric Bunnell for Scenic Design that created that realistic funeral parlour look. Credit also goes to stage manager Suzanne McArthur and apprentice assistant stage manager Darius Hahn for organizing stage operations, and to Karen Crichton for the lighting design, Zachery White as a sound technician, Alex Amini for costume design, and a special thanks goes out to Studio Style as show sponsor.

"It's Your Funeral" runs from August 14th to September 7th, 2019 at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre and it's a must see show if your looking for a good laugh and willing to take a zany break from reality!
