The Port Stanley Festival Theatre kicked off the 2018 summer season with the opening
night of Across The Pond: The British Invasion. Held in the amazing "Grace Auditorium",
this show stars creator-producer Leisa Way, and the Wayward Wind Band made up of
Fred Smith playing lead guitar, Bobby Prochaska playing bass, Bruce Ley the musical
director playing piano and guitar, Nathan Smith playing violin, mandolin, and acoustic
guitar, and Sam Cino on drums all offering an impressive musical background filled with
talent and experience.
The Across The Pond: The British Invasion show offered an extensive variety of vintage
British favourites, from the Beatles and the Rolling Stones to the Kinks and Herman's
Hermits, from Lulu and Petula Clark to Dusty Springfield, also including favourites
from Van Morrison, The Police, Rod Stewart, and so much more keeping the audience
constantly bopping and swaying to the rhythm of their favourite tunes. I would highly
recommend this entertaining show that engages and inspires as something that can't
be missed, so do yourself a favour before closing night Saturday June 2nd, and take
in a performance filled with trips down memory lane.
This year the Port Stanley Festival Theatre celebrates forty years of bringing Theatre
to the stage, and as an added bonus, for the run of the show, patrons will have
the opportunity to view a gallery display showcasing featured work provided by the
Association of Port Stanley Artists.
Across The Pond: The British Invasion sponsored by Studio Style runs until June 2nd, 2018.
