Mackie's And Port Stanley Lions Cruise Night happens every Friday night starting
at 5 p.m. in Mackie's parking lot at 124 William Street in Port Stanley. For the third year in a row car enthusiasts have been gathering in Mackie's parking lot to show
off their original antique, modified sports, rare collector, and show cars to help
support a greater cause. People that bring their cars to this show come from all
over South Western Ontario including Mt. Brydges, London, Sarnia and most of them
have become good friends with the local Port Stanley Lions Club.
Funds are raised at the show by having Door Prizes and a 50/50 Draw at the gate
upon entry to the show. Last year the Port Stanley Lions Club raised almost $8,000
at this weekly event with most of the money going towards supporting our local Minor
Hockey teams. A Lions Club member commented "If the weather is good, we do well,
and because Aylmer is not having a car show this year, we expect to do better than
last year. If you think your car is unique, special, proud of it and would like
to show it, then come on down, we would like to see you here!"
So if your looking for something to do on Friday evenings, like interesting cars
and friendly conversations, Mackie's Fresh Cut Fries, Special Sauce and Original
Orange Drink temptations, and with free parking after 5 p.m. in the Municipal Lot, I
would strongly recommend taking some time to visit the Mackie's And Port Stanley
Lions Cruise Night next time your down by the beach. See you there!
