World Premiere of Giving Up The Ghost by Arlin Dixon and Matthew Gorman

"A comedy about freedom, fresh starts, and things that go bump in the night…"

Fourth in the line-up in the 2019 Summer Season, celebrating uniquely made in Canada stories, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre is thrilled to be presenting the world premiere production of "Giving up the Ghost" by Arlin Dixon and Matthew Gorman. Running from July 3rd, in our newly renovated Grace Auditorium, this premiere production will run for three weeks with a closing performance on July 20th.

Audiences will recognize actors Lorna Wilson ("Birds of a Feather", "Night Must Fall" Shaw Festival, "Bonjour La Bonjour" Stratford), Tracey Beltrano ("Book Club", "Moose on the Loose", "Night of the Living Dead"), Jeff Dingle ("Book Club", "No Man's Land", "The Birds and the Bees"), and Iain Stewart ("Book Club", "Bed and Breakfast", "Of Human Bondage") as they return to the Port Stanley stage, while welcoming newcomer, veteran actor, Mark McGrinder ("Real Estate", "Stage Fright", "Billy Bishop Goes to War"). "Giving up the Ghost" is directed by PSFT Artistic Director Simon Joynes, and Stage Managed by Jory McLean, with Set Design by Joshua Quinlan, Lighting Design by Karen Crichton, and costumes by Alex Amini.

"The Christie House is about to become a parking lot and long-time curator, Aggie, rallies the troops for a last-minute defense in a classic showdown. Add an enigmatic caretaker, a control freak, and a TV ghostbuster, and it all just gets complicated."

With a varied season, which will appeal to single ticket buyers, subscribers, and tour groups alike, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre provides another season of top quality entertainment in 2019.
