Game 4: February 27th, 2010

Finally the home team won in this series. The Port Stanley Sailors Jr D hockey club defeated the Thamesford Trojans by a score of 4-3 in a very hard fought game.

Port Stanley got out of the gate with 2 goals. Anthony Sachetti got it started at 16:25 of the first with assists from Jordan Lant and Mike Adam. A little less then 2 minutes later Mike Killeen put one up on the board; assisting again was Jordan Lant and Aiden Orbinski. Thamesford answered back with 2 of the own. The Sailors replied with one more before the intermission off the stick of Kyle Derrig assisted by Jamis Dawdy.

Thamesford tied the game up at 18:07 of the 3rd. The Sailors were determined to win this game and Greg Lyle scored the winning goal shorthanded. James Garvin had the lone assist on it at 3:57 of the 3rd.

The Sailors have a chance to win the series Friday night in Thamesford at 7:30 pm. If needed, back in Port Stanley on Saturday night at 8:30 pm. Coach Dale Howard said "the hardest game to win is the last one in any series," but believes the Sailors can win the series. We are asking the Sailors fans to wear RED to all the Sailors playoff games to show your support.

Game 3: February 26th, 2010

Last night the Port Stanley Sailors Jr D hockey team took a 2-1 lead in the best of 7 series.

The Sailors opened the scoring early on a goal from Jon Cameron 2:59 in to the first period, followed by Greg Lyle's power play goal at 9:38 from Matt Dale and Aidian Orbinski. Before heading to the dressing room for the first intermission Thamesford got a power play goal of their own.

With his team up 2-1 to start the 2nd period, Mike Killeen scored with the help from Anthony Sachetti and Jordan Lant 0:18 seconds into the 2nd period. This was the only scoring in the period.

Greg Lyle scored shorthanded half way into the 3rd period on Joran Lant's 2nd assist of the game. Goaltender Stefan Duncan was again the first star of this game.
