Friday Dec 4th Game vs Hagersville

The Hagersville Hawks were the Sailors opponent on Friday night. Hagersville got on the board first at the 13:25 mark of the first period. Port Stanley got a early powerplay goal in the second period from Jordan Lant, before Hagersville took the lead 2-1 going into the second intermission.

At 8:27 of the 3rd the Sailors again tied the game up with yet another powerplay goal, this time from captain James Garvin. This game went to overtime with Hagersville winning it 27 seconds into the overtime by a score of 3-2. Goaltender Blake Rawlings stopped 40 shots. James Garvin and Jordan Lant each got a goal and a assist in the game.

Saturday Dec 5th Game vs Lambeth

On Saturday night December 5, 2009 the Port Stanley Sailors welcomed the Lambeth Lancers to the village of Port Stanley. The Sailors come out flying, scoring early. Jordan Lant picked up where he left off on Friday night scoring 24 seconds into this game. Lambeth tied it up on a powerplay goal at 16:38. Lambeth brought to Port Stanley the league's 2nd best powerplay.

The Sailors added two of their own powerplay goals, the first by Anthony Sachetti and Matt Dale. The Sailors added two more goals in the 2nd period to lead 5-1.

Three minutes and 6 seconds into the 3rd period Tom Kohler scored to give the Sailors a 6-1 lead. Lambeth was able to get one last goal past Stefan Duncan to make the final score 6-2 Port Stanley. Goaltender Stefan Duncan stopped 36 shots to get the win.

The Sailors are 3 points out of 2nd place in the Bauer Conference. The Thamesford Trojans, undefeated in 15 games, come to Port Stanley next Saturday night to play the Sailors. Game time is 8:30 pm.
