 Suspicious Death Investigation 

Update: Charges Laid and Victims Identified: Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), under the direction of OPP Acting Detective Inspector Heidi Stewart from the Criminal Investigation Branch, continues to investigate the suspicious deaths of two adults.

The victims are confirmed to be husband and wife and have been identified as 55 year old Susan GUBBELS and 54 year old Mario GUBBELS. Both victims are from Warwick Township. The post mortem examinations are expected to take place later this week.

The accused has been identified as their son, Jeremy GUBBELS, 26 years old of London.

The OPP has charged the accused with two counts of first degree murder. He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear by video at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on July 16, 2014.

Arkona Road continues to be closed between Zion Line and Egremont Road for the police investigation. It is expected to remain closed for several more hours.

The OPP is not searching for any further suspects as this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.

Warwick Township, ON: Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), under the direction of OPP Acting Detective Inspector Heidi Stewart from the Criminal Investigation Branch, is investigating the suspicious death of an adult female and an adult male.

The female victim was discovered in a private residence in the 5800 block of Arkona Road around 9:00 p.m. on July 13, 2014.

The OPP investigation determined that the suspect had ties to the London area, so OPP contacted the London Police Service for assistance. London Police officers located the male victim at around 10:45 p.m. in a vehicle located in a parking area near Richmond Street and Queens Avenue in London.

An adult male suspect was taken into custody around 11:00 p.m. on July 13, 2014 by the London Police Service.

Lambton OPP is not searching for any further suspects as this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.

Arkona Road is currently closed (10:15 a.m. July 14, 2014) between Zion Line and Egremont Road and is expected to remain closed for several hours while the OPP investigation continues. The investigation is in the early stages and further information will be released as it becomes available.
