Looking for something fun to do tonight? Spot the International Space Station which will be visible in tonight, February 11, 2013, for about 4 minutes at 6:52 PM. It is the third brightest object in the night sky.

The station will appear WSW (west southwest) at 6:52 PM, reaching a maximum height of 77 degrees. It will be visible for about 4 minutes, and will disappear into the NE (northeast).

Fact: 3 brightest objects in the sky
1) Sun
2) Moon
3) International Space Station (ISS)

Re: Space Station viewing

Just saw the article posted on the main page about viewing the space station tonight. For anyone who would like to view it more than once, or won't be able to see it tonight, it is visible every night - that is, if the sky is clear. I would like to share the link I use regularly. If you would like to take advantage of all the night sky has to offer, visit: http://www.heavens-above.com All you need to do is get your longitude and latitude typed into the info box, and it triangulates the times of all passing objects from space.

Also,if you have an Iphone, there is an App available called "The Night Sky". It is a star and sky map that allows you to find objects in the sky at all times of the day or night. It also shows satellites, rocket bodies and the ISS, as well as giving info on each item you wish to view. Just point and find! Lots of fun, and it makes my telescope easier to set up in a rush. :)

Anyhow, just thought I would throw that out there, in case anyone was genuinely interested.
