A Homeopath (Lynn), 2 nutritionists (Nikki & Lisa) & a psychotherpist (Jane)
There's a new wholistic wellness centre in town whose practitioners thought the Port Stanley
waterfront was the ideal setting for encouraging clients back on the road to health.
Located in Harbour House at 194 Main Street, they offer homepathic medicine, registered
massage therapy, registered wholistic nutrition, psychotherapy, counselling service,
seminars and workshops.
Jane Everitt-Walker, M.S.W., RSW: Psychotherapist: Jane graduated with a
Master's Degree in Social Work in 1992 from the University of Windsor. Since that
time, she has worked with and supported many individuals, couples, and families
to progress towards personal goals, improved functioning and emotional health.
Jane brings with her extensive experience in treating clients struggling with issues
related to anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, attachment loss and relationship
breakdown. Jane's approach to the therapeutic process honours each client's personal
strengths and life experience to create a respectful and genuine working environment.
In addition to her psychotherapy practice at SouthPort Wellness in Port Stanley,
Jane also assists clients to explore personal issues through her Equine Facilitated
Therapy practice, Heart of the Horse, in Springfield, Ont. This unique therapeutic
modality supports personal growth and emotional development through work with horses.
Lisa Pype, RHN: Registered Holistic Nutritionist: My interest in nutrition
began after a scary prediction from a dietician. I had experienced gestational diabetes
through my pregnancies, as well as other illnesses and extreme weight gain. The
dietician predicted I would be lucky to make it to the age of thirty without having
Type Two Diabetes. I have since struggled with weight loss and weight gain. Many
crazy diets; "low fat, no fat, fat free foods" seemed to be just a temporary fix.
CSNN is where I began to learn what real nutrition is. Holistic nutrition has been
a life changer for me! A diet based on "whole, live foods" has changed my life!
I have regulated my blood sugars (and my moods), and my weight has become quite
Exercise is a big part of my life. I participate in a lot of group fitness classes
such as Bounce-Fit, TRX, Booty Barre, and run the odd 5km for various charities
throughout the year.
Nikki Danbrook, RHN: Registered Holistic Nutritionist: My food journey began
with my children since every parent wants their kids to eat right but I didn't know
what was right. Noticing that my dogs, who ate raw, were eating more natural and
healthy than my kids, I set out to change that.
I also had a horrible fear my children would inherit my asthma and fibromyalgia.
After battling fibromyalgia for 20 years, I had made a connection between it and
the food I was eating. I needed more information! I trained at the Canadian School
of Natural Nutrition and graduated as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. My focus
is in fibromyalgia, hormone balance and weight control, but I welcome anyone seeking
a healthier life.
