DUTTON: The West Lorne and Dutton service centres in the Elgin-Middlesex-London
region are now open and offering preliminary services to travelers.
The Dutton facility is offering fuel, washrooms, parking and a convenience store.
The West Lorne facility is currently offering washrooms and parking only and will
have fuel and a convenience store available later this month. Both sites will be
fully operational in September 2010.
Once fully operational, the West Lorne and Dutton service centres will feature a
number of quick-service dining options which will include Tim Hortons, A&W,
Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, The Market and a Canadian Tire convenience store.
The Dutton site will also have a Coldstone Creamery dining option.
To date, the construction of these two service centres have sustained or created
approximately 100 jobs. Additionally, approximately 350 jobs will be created across
Ontario when the first seven revitalized service centres fully open this fall.
"The redevelopment of these two service centres can and will provide travellers
and residents with services that will enhance the way they see and visit Ontario,"
Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Steve Peters said. "And this investment in highway infrastructure
is creating jobs in our local communities."
