Elgin County - Public Health is encouraging everyone to drop in for a visit and tour the new headquarters at 1230 Talbot Street in St. Thomas on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.

"Everyone is welcome to tour the building, enjoy the company of your community and learn more about public health," explains Jack Couckuyt, Chair for the Board of Health. The facility was designed and built to serve the health needs of local residents and everyone is looking forward to sharing this new landmark in Elgin County. The event will start at 3:00 p.m. with speeches, a ribbon cutting and the closure of a time capsule. Staff will then be guiding tours through the building until 7:00 p.m.

Public Health provides services to area residents, professionals and businesses throughout Elgin County. Some of these services include:
• Clinical services ranging from dental services to sexual health
• Home visits for parents by public health nurses and parent resource workers
• Inspections and consultations by public health inspectors
• Skill building and education sessions
• Partnerships to promote and support healthy communities

Additionally, Elgin St. Thomas Public Health has an interactive image available on Thinglink, where you can learn more about the Open House, as well as some of the programs and services available at 1230 Talbot Street by selecting the icons.
