March 28, 2014: MP Joe Preston is pleased that Minister Lebel announced the launch of the New Building Canada Fund, ahead of schedule. This means that the entire New Building Canada Plan is now 'open for business.'

The New Building Canada Fund, a key element of the $53 billion New Building Canada Plan, supports infrastructure projects of national, regional and local significance that promote job creation, economic growth, and productivity. It is the largest and longest federal infrastructure plan in our nation's history.

"Communities in this riding will benefit from these programs that will improve the quality of life for the residents of Elgin-Middlesex-London and all Canadians,"said Joe Preston, Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London.

With today's launch, provinces, territories and municipalities may now apply for funding under the fund. More information, visit: www.infrastructure.gc.
