August 30, 2014: Sonya CYWINK remains were discovered on August 30, 1994 at a native historical site known as the Southwold Earth Works located on the Iona Road in Southwold Township, Elgin County. This area is southwest of the City of London, Ontario. A new reward poster offering a total of $60,000 in reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for this homicide is being released today.

Sonya was last seen on August 25, 1994 in the Dundas and Lyle Street area of London.

August 30, 2014 marks 20 years since the discovery of Sonya's body. "Certainly we want to solve this homicide and bring the perpetrator to justice for Sonya and her family. Someone out there knows something about this case and we are urging them to step forward and help bring this investigation to a successful conclusion," stated Detective Inspector Tracy DOBBIN.

The Government of the Province of Ontario, together with the sister of the late Sonya Nadine CYWINK, are offering a reward in the amount of sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Sonya Nadine CYWINK, age 31 years.

Sonya's remains were discovered on August 30th, 1994 at a native historical site known as the Southwold Earth Works located on the Iona Road in Southwold Township, Elgin County. This area is southwest of the City of London, Ontario.

Investigators urge any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for the death of Sonya CYWINK to immediately contact the Director of Criminal Investigation Services, Ontario Provincial Police at 1 888-310-1122 or (705) 329-6111, or their nearest police authority. Further information about this case is available on the OPP website at www.opp.ca.

This reward will be apportioned as deemed just by the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services for the Province of Ontario and the Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police.
