Jacqueline Peter who played the lead role of Kayla Butler in m&s Marshall Production's independent
drama Addictions, has won a prestigious "Award of Merit: Leading Actress"
from The Indie Fest. The award was given for Jacqueline’s exciting portrayal of
Kayla, who is struggling with her alcohol addiction after being involved in a impaired
driving accident.
When asked about her win of an Indie, Peter offered these words: "I am very enthusiastic
and honoured about receiving this award. I worked very hard on trying to portray
a young woman whose life gets turned upside down by one wrong choice. Even in her
darkest time she finds hope and faith in the Lord, which enables her to face the
consequences of her actions whole-heartedly."
For Jacqueline to win this award shows the depth of her performance in her role
of Kayla Butler. "It's a real pleasure to have her efforts recognized in receiving
this award, and I hope this win brings more attention to the production and the
addictions that many teens and young adults struggle with in today's society," says
Matthew R. Marshall co-owner of m&s Marshall productions, and Addictions
writer, director and producer
